Referrals
A referral is a recommendation the platform remembers. When someone you recommended joins and makes their first payment, you each receive free months.
Not every site offers this. The programme is switched on for some sites and not others. If there is no Referrals entry in your settings, yours does not have it, and nothing on this page applies.
https://actionnetwork.world/a/settings/referralsWhat you get
Section titled “What you get”The reward is whole free months, and only that — never money, credit, a percentage or a discount. A free month makes one monthly invoice cost nothing while your plan carries on unchanged; several months cover consecutive invoices.
The exact number of months each of you receives, the waiting period and the yearly limit are set by the platform and stated on its referral terms, which is the authority. They are not repeated here because they can change.
Sharing your link
Section titled “Sharing your link”Every member has a personal link under Settings → Referrals, labelled Your personal link. It can be copied, or sent by LinkedIn, WhatsApp or email.
/a/settings/referrals in the appThere is no code to enter. The link is what records who recommended whom, so the person you refer has to join through it.
You can replace your link. The old one stops working straight away, so anyone you already sent it to needs the new one — but people who had already signed up through it stay counted as your referrals. The screen asks you to confirm first.
If they joined without using your link
Section titled “If they joined without using your link”They are not lost. The person you referred can name you under Who referred you?, and you are then asked to confirm it. Two limits apply:
- It has to be done before their first payment — afterwards it is too late.
- It expires if you do not answer within a set number of days.
Each account can be referred once, by one person.
When the months arrive
Section titled “When the months arrive”The months are not instant. They are granted a set number of days after the first payment, so that the platform can be sure the payment stands. Until then a referral shows as recorded but not yet rewarded.
Once granted, they are applied automatically to your next monthly invoice. A few cases:
- On a yearly plan, your months are kept and used once you are on monthly billing.
- If you administer an organisation, you can choose to apply your own earned months to the organisation’s subscription instead of your personal one.
- Earned months do not expire.
What does not count
Section titled “What does not count”A referral does not qualify if:
- you refer yourself, or another account that is yours;
- the person pays with a payment method already used on your account;
- their payment is refunded, reversed or disputed. If that happens after months were granted, any of those months you have not yet used are withdrawn.
There is also a limit per calendar year on the months you can earn as a referrer.
What you see about the people you refer
Section titled “What you see about the people you refer”For each person you refer you see their first name and whether the referral has been recorded, paid and rewarded. Nothing else about them is shown to you.
The other side is the same: a member who referred you sees only your first name and those three states.
